Good Morning Boys and Girls.
It looks like it’s going to be another beautiful day. I hope you get to have some time outside to enjoy the sunshine.
| Literacy: Phonics | Ask an adult at home to challenge you to spell 10 words (minimum). You can choose how you do this. You could use your phonics cards, magnetic letters if you have them or write them down it is up to you. Parents: Please remember that the words you are asking your child to spell should be made up of the sounds they are familiar with. (At this stage all single letter sounds, th, sh and ch). For example, they should be capable of independently spelling ship (sh-i-p) however they would not be expected to spell show (sh-ow) as they are not familiar with the ‘ow’ sound yet. I know this can be a bit confusing to get your head around as often as adults we are not used to breaking words down that much. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me- I am here to help! Here are some suggestions for the adults in case they are having a mind blank! Shop, chin, cash, cat, dog, fish, wish, chip, box, zip, pop, lip, fin, rat. |
| Literacy: Reading | Go to https://www.education.com/game/jump-in-sight-word-mud/ and have a go at the game. The words should be words you are familiar with but if not ask an adult to help you as they are all words you will need to learn to recognise. |
| Numeracy | In your reading book (that the silly website won’t let you access!) the character likes mixing thigs together. Miss Robinson’s favourite time to mix things together is when she is baking (Yummy). You do not need to bake anything however if you can, help your adults in the kitchen by helping to measure pout the things they might need. This could involve using scales or a measuring jug. If your adult does not need any help today this could be completed another day, or you could just grab a set of scales and measure the weight of different items around your house. Ask your adult to help you read what it says on the scales or measuring jug. |
| Health & Wellbeing | If you can, go on a walk with your family. It might be a nice idea to take your favourite teddy bear with you. Where Miss Robinson lives some people have Teddy Bears in their windows. Are there teddy bears in the windows of the houses near you? If there are, how many can you find? |
