Good Morning Boys and Girls.
| Literacy: Phonics | Today we are going to revise the ‘ck’ sound. We know that both ‘c’ and ‘k’ make the same sound and when they are put together their sound stays the same. Sometimes it is difficult to remember when to use a ‘c’ and when to use a ‘k’. This is something we simply must learn. However, the ‘ck’ sound generally comes at the end of the word. Can you correctly spell these ‘ck’ words? The opposite of front is…? If you’re hungry between meals, you have a …? The thing that holds your head up. A small part of a tree that you can play with if it falls off. What do you need to do to the door when you leave the house? An animal that lives on water. How do you tell the time? The opposite of thin is …? |
| Literacy: Reading | Parents: Please go to https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/user/sign_up.html and register for a free account. This will allow you and your child to access free reading books from home as obviously we are not able to issue new reading books at the minute. If you read Can you See Me? last week, please search for Big Feet If you readAnt and the Baby last week, please search for Dad can you do this? Like every other week have a go at reading the book. Before you start can you predict what you think the book is going to be about by looking at the front cover and the title. You can use the ‘read to me’ function if you want or simply read it to your adult. |
| Numeracy | Today we are going to practice our addition. Here is a selection of games to try. (You do not need to play them all!) https://www.mathplayground.com/ASB_JetSkiAddition.html https://www.mathplayground.com/amusement_park_addition.html https://www.mathplayground.com/math_racer_addition.html https://www.topmarks.co.uk/addition/robot-addition |
| Science | Go to https://www.facebook.com/Glasgowsciencecentre/videos/170064421062195/ and watch the video on how to make your own bubbles. If you have the ingredients at home maybe you could give it a go? If you don’t have the ingredients don’t worry you can still enjoy the video. |
