🦖Nursery 14.4.2020🦖

Good Morning Children,

I hope you all managed to enjoy your Easter holidays with your family. It’s a very strange time at the moment and nursery from home is a bit strange too but it’s a new term and I’m here with Mrs Forth & Mrs June to give you some activities through the week. It’s very important that you check in with your name on the nursery posts, its how we know you’re okay. We love to hear from you and see your photos too, we miss seeing your faces and hearing your news everyday.

It’s a bit cold

So I thought see as we’ve all been gobbling Easter eggs we would do a little bit of science today with a real egg. With your grown up get an egg and hold it. How does it feel? Can you use 3 words to say how it feels in your hands or rolling it along you skin?

Cracking

Now with some help break the egg onto a plate and let it settle. What can you see? Can you spot the shell? The yellow/orange bit is called the yolk. Can you find out what the clear bits are called?

Did you know that the eggs we are exploring are chicken eggs. If eggs are FERTILISED there would have been baby chick’s inside but our eggs are not fertilised and this is why we can eat them. Chickens are not the only bird or animal that comes from eggs, Im a dinosaur and I came from an egg!! Can you find out some other animals that come from eggs?

Please leave a comment with your name to check in. If your able to it would be great to get some photo’s of you being a scientist exploring your egg (don’t worry if you don’t have an egg today, you can do this at some point over the week) To send photos my email is emma.forth79@gmail.com

Have a cracking day and I’ll be back on Thursday with more.
