Primary 1 Learning Tasks 14th April.

Good Morning boys and girls. I hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday and didn’t eat too many Easter Eggs! It feels a little bit strange going back to school but not actually going into the school building, doesn’t it? I am missing seeing all your little faces and hearing all your stories. However, if your adults at home keep sending me pictures I will keep trying to put them onto the blog so you can see what your friends are up to. I wonder how William and his chickens are doing. Has he had eggs for breakfast every morning?

At the end of todays tasks I have added a Fun Challenge. This is completely optional but if you have a go please send me a picture, I am planning to have a go too!

Literacy: PhonicsGo to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U354eD-hgQ and watch the video. This will show you your new sound. If you can try to make a sound card to go in your phonics folder (small envelope folder in homework folders).

How many words can you come up with that have the ‘th’ sound? Here are some clues:
How you feel when you want a drink?
The day of the week before Friday?
What you do with a ball?

Use your phonics folder and show your adult at home how many of your sounds that you can remember.
Literacy: ReadingParents: Please go to https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/user/sign_up.html and register for a free account. This will allow you and your child to access free reading books from home as obviously we are not able to issue new reading books at the minute.

After your adult at home has created an account click on the E-Book section. In the search bar type in: Kipper’s Diary. If you click on the speaker button the computer will read the book to you. Can you read the book to your adult at home?
NumeracyLog in to your Sumdog account (www.sumdog.com). You will find your log in details either in the front of your homework diary or in the small brown envelope in your homework pack.

1.Log in.
2. Click on Maths.

The game will ask you a series of questions. Try your best to answer them. Please try to play the game for 15-20 minutes.
Health & WellbeingGo to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhWDiQRrC1Y&t=134s and follow along with the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Fun Challenge! Can you design an Easter Egg with a pattern on it? The pattern can either be repeating shapes or repeating colours.

As always, if you have any questions please just send me an email at carolyn.robinson@tainroyalacademy.net.

Thank you

Miss Robinson
