Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well and managing to get out for some fresh air and your daily exercise. What have you all be doing for your exercise? I’ve been helping Mrs Forths oldest son Toby with his paperound in the morning. He goes really fast on his bike. Her other son George does a paper round too but he leaves far too early.

On Tuesday we were scientists and learned about eggs. Today there are some things I would like you to find out about eggs. You can use books but the Internet might be the easiest way to find out these 3 bits of information I would like to know.

1. How many eggs does a chicken lay a day?

2. What lays the biggest eggs?

3. What lays the smallest eggs?

Once you’ve found out this information please let me know. Maybe someone can help you write the answers and you could draw some pictures round it and make some marks, this helps you with your fine motor skills (getting yours fingers strong).

The eggs we investigated on Tuesday were not fertilised so they didn’t have chicks growing in them. Fertilised eggs do have chicks growing in them. If an egg is fertilised it needs a nice warm nest to keep it safe and also it needs to be kept warm until the chick is all grown and it is ready to hatch.

So I thought you could be creative today. Pick your most favourite cuddly toy and make a nest for it. (It doesn’t have to be a bird or egg laying animal, its just for fun) You could even make a nest for yourself? Mrs Forth made me a nest to sit in.

You can use ANYTHING. Ribbon, sticks, scarves, pillows, blankets, pipe cleaners, glitter, let your imagination go wild and show me your amazing nests.
