Primary 1 Learning Tasks 17th April.

Good morning boys and girls. I can’t believe its the end of week 1 of term 4 already! I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Literacy: Phonics	Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JmCrl4FHj8 and watch the video. This will show you your new sound. If you can try to make a sound card to go in your phonics folder (small envelope folder in homework folders).   How many words can you come up with that have the ‘ch’ sound? Here are some clues: Where can you go to build sandcastles? A small red fruit. The room of your house that you cook in. A mouse’s favourite snack.   Use your phonics folder and show your adult at home how many of your sounds that you can remember.
Literacy: Reading	On the Oxford Owl website there are two games associated with you Kipper’s Diary Reading book. Have a go at playing both games.   Can you remember all the days of the week and can you say them in the correct order? Here is a video to help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loINl3Ln6Ck
Numeracy	Log in to your Education City account (www.educationcity.com) and have a go at the city called ‘number’. Try and play for a minimum of 20 minutes.   Please note that I have set the pass rate to 80% for each of the games and the system will not let you move onto the next game until you have gotten at least 80% of the answers correct.
Health & Wellbeing	Listen to this story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qHoa7tfFiQ   We are all different or all Unique. With an adult at home can you think of 3 things that make you the same as them and 3 things that make you different from them.   Would the world be more interesting or more boring if everybody was the same? Why do you think that?
