Morning hot chocolate

Good Morning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend, did you notice the weather was really windy on Friday and Saturday? It felt a bit like winter again. When I went a walk I noticed that lots of leaves and branches had been blown off the trees. When you check in this morning can you tell me what the weather looks like today?

Well done to all those who did the reading challenge. It was amazing to see all your friendly and happy faces. Did you spot me?

We are on the last week of our dinosaur topic, I think you have all learned so much and did lots of activities. It is hard when we aren’t all together in our lovely nursery but it helps of we try to do something different. One thing on our mind maps we didn’t learn about and Amy talked about was The Loch Ness Monster. Now I know “Nessie” very well but he is very shy. I will tell you a little bit about him.

Nessie

So Nessie lives very near us. He lives in Loch Ness which is very very deep and is near Inverness. For many many year people have been spotting him in the water and say he is like no other living animal…. he is huge! Almost… like a dinosaur. Over the years there has been many sightings of Nessie however some people do not believe he is real and this is why there is such a mystery about him.

Loch Ness

Above is a picture of Nessie’s home Loch Ness. It has the ruins of Urquhart Castle on it. Loch Ness has many visitors centers and you can even go Nessie hunting on boats. Loch Ness is so deep that they have never been to the bottom of it, which is lucky because that is where Nessie hides (don’t tell the grown ups this!)

Today I would you like to have a look at pictures of Nessie on the Internet, do you think he is like a dinosaur and if so what kind? Also this is a task that might take you a few days, I would love you to make a model of Nessie. You can use anything from Junk to dough or wood, let your imagination go wild. I would like everyone in your house to get involved, it can be a team effort. At the end of the week we can share our models with each other. So can we try and have the done by end of Thursday please.

Also here is a link to the Loch Ness webcam, if you’re lucky you might Nessie on it, I’ll let you know you’re watching!

So don’t forget to have a look out your window and tell me what the weather is like this morning when you check in.

Have a great day x
