Primary 1 Learning Tasks 27th May

Good Morning Boys and Girls.

Literacy: PhonicsA few weeks ago we were looking at rhyming words.

Today’s challenge is to think of a sentence containing a rhyming pair and draw a picture to match. For example: A cat in a hat.

Sometimes its easier to think of the two words and then put them into a sentence. Personally I like to think of animals as I find them easy to rhyme with (some of them).

You could use a dog, a frog, a bat, a mouse, a chick or you don’t have to use an animal at all.

This is quite a tricky task so please do not panic of you find it a bit difficult.
Literacy: ReadingRe-read your reading book. What do you think of the book? Are you enjoying it?   Also, have another go at your tricky words.
NumeracyYesterday you played a game about following directions. But how good are you at following directions in real life?

Close your eyes or blindfold yourself. Ask an adult to give you simple directions to get from one place to another. E.g. forward 3 steps, turn right…

If you struggle with your left and right put something in one hand to help you remember. E.g. right hand is empty but left hand has a coin in it.

Once you have had a go change places with your adult and see if you can direct them.
Health & WellbeingToday we are going to think about what you are good at. Can you have a chat with your adults at home and come up with at least 3 things you think you are good at?

  1. William.

We are a bit slow on the go because William is watching some trees getting cut down in our garden. There is a digger too.
