Primary 1 Learning Tasks 4th June.

Literacy: Phonics	Go to https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/2/grab-a-giggling-grapheme and log in using: Username: march20 Password: home In the game ‘Grab a Giggling Grapheme’ choose the +ch, sh, th, ng option. Make sure your sound us up and click on the monster holding the sound that is said. If this is too challenging try the All Phase 2 option.
Literacy: Reading	Have another go at your reading book. Was it any easier this time? When you’re finished can you close the book and retell the story to your adult at home? Remember to include all the important details.
Numeracy	Today let’s try practicing counting backwards again. Science	Today we are going to investigate sinking and floating. Some objects will float on the surface of water while others will sink straight to the bottom. I would like you to find 3-5 objects in your house and decide if you think they’ll sink or float. Your adult at home could help you make a table to record your predictions. Next, I’d like you to test your predictions in the sink, or a bucket of water. Were you correct? Can you record your findings?
Super-Secret Special Challenge	I have a special challenge for you all. I am sure you will remember that around this time last year you had your moving up day, where you came into Primary 1 for the days and pretended that you were already in P1. We made monkey masks and got to know each other. Unfortunately this year the new Primary 1’s won’t be able to do that so Mrs Forth, Mrs June and I thought that it would be nice to host a virtual Teddy Bear’s picnic for the new P1’s. This is where I need your help! Can you design an invitation for the Teddy Bear’s Picnic and send it to me? Please include these details. Teddy Bear’s Picnic. It will take place on Google Meet on Thursday 25^th June at 12pm for new Nursery Children and 1pm for new Primary 1’s. I hope I have explained that clearly. If you have any questions please email me.
