Good Morning Boys and Girls

Literacy: Phonics	Today we are going to firstly practice matching lower and uppercase letters: https://www.softschools.com/language_arts/phonics/learning_alphabet/matching_upper_lower_case_letters/ Yesterday you were looking at the alphabet song. Today I want you to have a go at putting the words in alphabetical order. This is quite a tricky task so please don’t worry or panic of you find it difficult. You might only play the first level. Literacy: Writing	Today I want you to watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjoDEQqyTig. It is a little bit different because there is no talking in it. When it is over can you tell your adult what it was about? There are no right or wrong answers. It is up to you how you interpret the message of the video. Parents: Although there is no specific right or wrong answer we would hope that the children would see that there are themes of bullying, being unkind, not being mean to someone because they look different within the video clip.
Numeracy	Today we are going to play a game of BINGO. You can play by yourself or with other people in your house. The first thing you’ll need to do is split a piece of paper into six sections by drawing a line across the middle and two lines down the page. Next you need to choose 6 numbers to write in each space. I’d advise starting with numbers to 10 and then maybe trying numbers to 20 or larger after that. Finally you need to get an adult at home to be your BINGO caller. However, we don’t want it to be too easy so adults shouldn’t just say the number, they should give you a clue, like: The number after 6, or the number before 10. The aim is to be able to cross off all the numbers on your BINGO board.
Health & Wellbeing	Normally at this time of year the NSPCC come out and do a special assembly.
