Leo has also been busy doing some shapes wearing his lovely toy story jumper I can see woody. Mum said he found the triangles and squares a little tricky, they are Leo don’t worry just keep practicing it will get easier. I loved your pattern with your circles. Leo has been busy playing on his bouncy castle in the lovely sun he bounced so much he needed a wee nap in the afternoon, quite right Leo 😊
It looks like it’s going to be another beautiful day. I hope you get to have some time outside to enjoy the sunshine.
Literacy: Phonics
Ask an adult at home to challenge you to spell 10 words (minimum). You can choose how you do this. You could use your phonics cards, magnetic letters if you have them or write them down it is up to you.
Parents: Please remember that the words you are asking your child to spell should be made up of the sounds they are familiar with. (At this stage all single letter sounds, th, sh and ch). For example, they should be capable of independently spelling ship (sh-i-p) however they would not be expected to spell show (sh-ow) as they are not familiar with the ‘ow’ sound yet. I know this can be a bit confusing to get your head around as often as adults we are not used to breaking words down that much. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me- I am here to help!
Here are some suggestions for the adults in case they are having a mind blank! Shop, chin, cash, cat, dog, fish, wish, chip, box, zip, pop, lip, fin, rat.
Literacy: Reading
Go to https://www.education.com/game/jump-in-sight-word-mud/ and have a go at the game. The words should be words you are familiar with but if not ask an adult to help you as they are all words you will need to learn to recognise.
Numeracy
In your reading book (that the silly website won’t let you access!) the character likes mixing thigs together. Miss Robinson’s favourite time to mix things together is when she is baking (Yummy). You do not need to bake anything however if you can, help your adults in the kitchen by helping to measure pout the things they might need. This could involve using scales or a measuring jug.
If your adult does not need any help today this could be completed another day, or you could just grab a set of scales and measure the weight of different items around your house. Ask your adult to help you read what it says on the scales or measuring jug.
Health & Wellbeing
If you can, go on a walk with your family. It might be a nice idea to take your favourite teddy bear with you. Where Miss Robinson lives some people have Teddy Bears in their windows. Are there teddy bears in the windows of the houses near you? If there are, how many can you find?
Alfie has been super busy over the holidays and last week. He has been enjoying the sunshine and busy making elephants and praticing his pencil control drawing shapes. His Mum has sent us some lovely photos to share, Its great to see his big smile. Well done Alfie!
Even if you haven’t managed to do the tasks Haggis has been setting you it would still be great to get some photos of your child so we can see their faces and hear what they have been doing, we are really missing them all. I know the other children enjoy seeing their photos too.

Can you guess these nursery rhymes?
You’ll find the file for the nursery rhyme quiz below.
What a fantastic response for nest building and well done everyone for correctly answering the 3 questions.
A hen can only lay 1 egg a day.
An ostrich lays the biggest egg.
A hummingbird lays the smallest egg.
Zachary made a fantastic nest for Chase, he used lots of different materials and I really like the use of the skipping rope it goes all the way round the nest. Some great mark making there too Zachary.
Leo also made a nest for a dog, it looks like a well loved dog. He used bark, sticks, moss, leaves and some bits of flowers to make is smell nice. It looks really comfortable. Leo is also doing great mark making, he asked his Alexa the questions about the eggs and got them all right, great use of technology Leo.
Amy was very busy today making her nest with lots of help from Zoe. In their nest is some princesses and a big leopard is watching over them. Amy also painted an elves door, I hope a friendly elf comes to visit you through that door girls. Amy got help from her uncle Michael on answering the questions, well done Uncle Michael!
Harris was impressed that Haggis had been out with Toby on a bike. Harris has been out lots on his bike and sometimes gets in the trailer of his mums bike to go much longer bike rides, Haggis definitely wants a shot in that trailer.
Harris made a nest for his chicken. This is what Harris had to say about it, “Sticks to hold him up off the floor, moss and grass to keep him comfy” then “we should hide him from foxes so he’s not eaten!”
Well done Harris it’s an excellent nest, I do like the eggs. I am sure you’ll keep the pesky fox away!
