It was lovely to hear from Alfie this morning, he has been busy helping in the garden, baking cakes and making salt dough hand prints. Well done Alfie!
Harris has been enjoying helping his sister out with her primary 1 tasks. Good job Harris.
Zachary’s Mum emailed to say how much he loved making his funny face and has also been enjoying his garden playing in the sand pit. Great funny faces Zachary.
Amy also made some fantastic faces out in the garden today, I love all the different materials you used Amy, the hair looks great.
I can’t believe it’s the last day of ‘term’. Although things are a bit different at the minute and we aren’t getting to say goodbye to each other before we go off and enjoy our Easter Holidays (and hopefully an Easter egg or two 🙂 ).
Thank you too all of you and all of your mums, dads and adults at home for engaging with all the learning tasks so well. Miss Robinson has been logging in to her Education City and Sumdog accounts each night and can see how hard you have all been working.
A BIG shoutout to William who has answered 461 questions on Sumdog, what a STAR!

Watch (or read if you have it at home) the story of The Rainbow Fish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifXlc0QI2kY The Rainbow fish has shiny scales. Can you find other things around your house that are shiny? Can you make your own Rainbow fish using colouring pens or pencils and perhaps some tin foil to make his shiny scales? If you have a printer at home, maybe your adults could print you a template (https://www.sparklebox.co.uk/1731-1735/sb1732.html). If you don’t have a printer you can just draw one too! 😊

Pick a room in your house, living room, bedroom, kitchen, it’s up to you. Go on a shape hunt around your chosen room. How many things can you find that are a: SquareCircleRectangle (remember the differences between a square and a rectangle)TriangleAre there any other shapes that you can see?
Good Morning everyone. I hope you’re all doing well and still managing to get outside for your daily walk. I see Leo and Amy have been very busy outside. I’m so glad you were enjoying the weather yesterday.
Today we are going to do a little bit of literacy, so grab some paper and pens, pencils or crayons and your loose parts.
First we are going to make funny faces on our paper with the loose parts, be creative and make different expressions, happy, excited, worried etc. Use lots of different materials from around the house too.
Once you’ve spent some time talking about the faces you’ve made, pick your favourite one and take your pen and draw round the parts on the paper. This is a bit tricky but it doesn’t have to be perfect. It let’s you get used to holding a pen and is great practice for beginning to write, its called mark making. Once you’ve drawn round your objects, take them off and then you can add details, like eye lashes, teeth, nostrils, hair ears, whatever you like.
When I was finished I shared the banana I used with Tess for breakfast. 🍌
Please send me pictures of your funny faces once you are finished.
While staying with Mrs Forth, I’ve made friends with a couple of others, one of them is a bit grinchy but has a big heart really! We decided to make a reading den and read a book together in it. Can you make a reading den too? What book did you read?
We read the book “Where The Wild Things Are” I really enjoyed it. You can go on YouTube and some people will read it to you if you don’t have the book.
Please don’t forget to check in and send your photos to Mrs Forth at emma.forth79@gmail.com Have a great day. 🦖
Good Morning Boys and Girls. I hope you are all feeling good!
Literacy
You should have your reading book in your homework pack. Take some time to read it with your adults at home. Remember you also have your sounds and your common words that you can keep practicing! When you have finished, the last sound we worked on in class was ‘sh’. If you’ve forgotten what the sound is watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqigJZm5aa4&t=56s to refresh your memory! Now try and see how many words you can think of that have the ‘sh’ sound. Can you write them down? (You might need an adult to help, but please have a go at sounding them out yourself!)

Log in to your Sumdog account (www.sumdog.com). You will find your log in details either in the front of your homework diary or in the small brown envelope in your homework pack. Log in.Click on MathsThe game will ask you a series of questions. Try your best to answer them. Please try to play the game for 15-20 minutes. Parents: When you initially log in to Sumdog it takes the children through a diagnostic test which allows it to tailor the questions to your child’s personal abilities. While your child is completing this part please feel free to explain the questions to them if they do not understand but try not to help them too much as this will skew the results and perhaps make it more difficult for them to play the game independently.
Ask your adult at home to search for an animal on google. There should be an option to see a 3D animal. Can you make it come alive in your house? Send me a picture if you can!
The boys and girls in Primary 1 have been busy today! I am so impressed by how well you are all taking to this new way of learning and are engaging so well with all the tasks. (I hope you’re having fun doing them!?)
Take a look at what they’ve been up to today!
Keep up the good work everyone (parents included!)
Well done Amy, Leo and Zachary who have all been busy getting on with their tasks today. Leo I can see you’ve been practicing your writing too, well done. Zachary what birds did you spot through your binoculars?
Well done Harris it looks like you’ve been working very hard with your loose parts. I hear you even knew the conkers with “tails” are growing into trees. Haggis is very impressed 🦖
I hope you are all well and ready for another day! I’m sorry if you’ve got an alert for this post multiple times, technology was not being my friend this morning!

Numeracy
Complete a survey within your house to see what item of furniture you have the most of. You can use your jotter to record your findings but you can use other things such as personal notebooks, whiteboards or just a sheet of paper.
We have looked at using tally marks in class. (Remember four lines and then cross the gate for number 5). Can you try to use them? I know this is a very grow up and complicated way of recoding your answers but I think you’re up to the challenge!
The items I want you to count are: · Chairs · Tables · Beds · Cupboards
Can you work out which one you have the most of and which one you have the least of?
