πŸ¦–Nursery Activities & check in πŸ¦–

Good Morning, How is everyone feeling today? I am starting to get into a routine living in Mrs Forth’s house. We are trying to make it as like nursery as possible so getting up, having breakfast, doing our activities, having snack, enjoying our outdoor time in the garden then lunch and a story. Having a good routine is making me feel happier as I know what to expect through the day. Tess has become a good friend, we like to hang out together but we have to watch out for a another furry animal in Mrs Forth’s House, I wonder if you guess what it is, its name is meow!

Today it would be great if you could get all your loose parts that you collected out and sort them into piles of their kind. Don’t worry if you didn’t manage to get out, you can use things from your house, dry pasta, toy cars, hair clips, pegs, earrings, etc.

Once we have sorted them all out choose a pile and sort them in order of size. Mrs Forth had to snap her twigs because they were all of similar size.

I think this one looks like a Christmas tree!

While we did this Mrs Forth used lots of words like big, bigger, smaller and little. “Can you find a smaller one Haggis?” “Oh that one is the biggest” this help me understand size.

Next can you find a pen and paper? Mrs Forth helped me make a “ten frame” it’s very easy, you don’t need to be neat with a ruler, we just drew it best we could.

We used this to play a game. Mrs Forth asked me to put 2 pieces on the frame so I had to count 2 parts and put them on the frame. 1, 2.

We did this with different amounts up to 5 but if you want you can try up to 10! Its not about getting it right on your own, it’s about doing it as a team, counting the pieces, talking about the numbers. “There are 4 parts, lets count 1, 2, 3, 4”

At the end Mrs Forth would say a number and I had to put a stone on the correct number, I only manged to do this up to 5 but that’s okay, I can keep practicing.

“Can you put it on number 2 Haggis?”
“And number 4 Haggis”

It would be great if you could leave a comment with your name so I know you’ve checked in today. Have a great day. πŸ¦–

⭐Oh and if you have any photos please email them to Mrs Forth on Emma.forth79@gmail.com so she can share them at the end of the day. ⭐

πŸ¦–Nursery Hello

Hello Boys & Girls,

I just wanted to check in with you all, I hope you’re all doing well and managing to get some fresh air. No activity today, we will only be setting these on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Nursery is all about learning through play and I am sure there is plenty of that going on.

However I know that I missing story time with you all so I have added a link at the bottom for a bestime story. When it comes to bed time, get comfy, grab your favourite cuddly toy and watch this story. It would be great if you could leave a little comment sharing your thoughts on the story.

Working Hard in Primary 1!

We have had some busy boys and girls in Primary 1 today. It has made me very happy to see the pictures of you all working so hard at home!

Look how busy you and your friends have been!

Checking In and Noting Absences.

Good Afternoon everyone. I know we are only on day 2 but we have had a fabulous response to this new system so I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for engaging so well!

Just a quick reminder to say that it is important that you try to check in each day, preferably before 3pm. Highland Council require us to still take a register and therefore it we do not hear from you for 3 days we are required to try and get in contact with you as is Highland Council policy. Please remember, comment on the blog post to note your engagement and email Mrs Callander at suzanne.callander@highland.gov.uk to note any absences.

Thank you

P1 Home Learning 24th March

Good Morning boys and girls. I hope you all had fun completing your tasks yesterday. I loved getting emails from your adults at home, showing me some photos of the fun you were having.

Today’s tasks follow a similar pattern to yesterday.

LiteracyBedroom Challenge!   Look around your bedroom and see if you can find one object that begins with the sounds b, l, w, s and p.   Try and write the names of the objects (you can get an adult to help) in your jotter and draw a picture of each one.
NumeracyLog in to your Education City account (www.educationcity.com) and have a go at the city called β€˜number’. Try and play for a minimum of 20 minutes. Β Β  Β
Health & WellbeingJoe Wicks will be hosting an at home PE lesson live on his YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1) at 9am. Try your best to tune in and join in. Don’t worry if you’re not able to do it at 9am, it should remain on his YouTube page so that you can complete it later in the day. If you are struggling to find it, he also has a playlist of Kid friendly workouts that you could do instead. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3LPrhI0v-w&list=PLyCLoPd4VxBvPHOpzoEk5onAEbq40g2-k)

Parents: I got a few emails yesterday about Education City being down. Please be patient with the site as it will be dealing with a much larger influx of log ins than usual. Also, if you are having any difficulties accessing the games please let me know and I can edit the games available for your child. It was great to log in and see how successful the children were with their Literacy task yesterday. It was clear they were all taking their time to achieve the best score!

Also please remember that first names are all that is required in your comments as this is a public blog.

Thank You

Some Busy Bees in Nursery/P1 today πŸ

Harris and Eilidh have been very busy today. Thank you so much for sharing their day with us. The teachers have loved seeing what they have been up to! Have a read below and look at their lovely pictures ❀

Lots of fun this morning doing the Joe Wicks workout together. Then headed out for our nursery walk to gather things we found. Also collected a bag of rubbish and sorted it into recycling and rubbish when we got home.Β
