This is Halloween…
Today in school we had a Super Spooky Day. There were witches, dinosaurs, bats and even Woody from Toy Story was there!
Have a look at how cool we looked!

If you went down to the woods today…
You would have seen some very excited children and a few more adults than we usually have at our Wednesday woods sessions.
Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who joined us this morning. The children had so much fun and loved having new adults to share their woods experiences with!

Woods Wednesday
This coming week (2nd October) the children would like to invite their parents to join them on their weekly trip to the woods. We usually aim to leave around 9.15 although this changes depending on how easily the children get their red suits on!
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!
Friday visit from Dino the Dinosaur
Today the children were delighted to receive a very special tooth visit from Dino the dinosaur, he came along to talk about how we need to look after our teeth and to teach us how to brush properly, he very kindly allowed each of our children to give his teeth a wee brush with his very big toothbrush.
Dino was very impressed with what our children were able to tell him about taking special care of our teeth with one little girl telling him “If you don’t brush your teeth you will get cavities”. All the children agreed sweet things are nice and tasty but only now and again and as long as you remember to brush afterwards.
Lorna then told the children the story “The crocodile smile”, after which the children had a tasty lunch then we had some lovely outdoor playtime enjoying the warm autumn sun.
Planning Overview 17/9/19
Apologies in the delay in posting the current learning overview.
Please find it attached below. We look forward to seeing your junk model houses!
Don’t we look Smart?
If you went down to the woods today… you would have saw some very excited children sporting some fancy new high visibility vests!Their new accessory made it very easy for the adults to spot them while they played in the woods! Thank you to Highland Waste Services in Invergordon for their kind gift! We will never be able to hide from our teachers again!

Exploring Pattern
Today the boys and girls in Primary 1 (or the Seahorses as we have renamed ourselves!) were busy exploring pattern. The children had lots of fun using peg boards to explore making their own patterns as well as trying to copy some patterns that Miss Robinson made. The children all worked really well and Miss Robinson was really impressed by how much they all concentrated on the task.

Sunny Afternoons
As it was such a lovely afternoon some of the children went a walk along the river with Mrs Forth & Miss Ross.
We noticed lots of the leaves are changing colour and even watched as some fell to the ground, we learned that summer season is coming to an end and it’s almost Autumn now.
As we got further along the river we found a nice shaded spot to talk about safety near water. We know we dont go near the water without an adult and must never go in fast moving water. After we talked about keeping safe we got to throw some stones into the water before walking back to the school.
It was a lovely walk and we hope everyone is enjoying this little bit of sunshine we are getting.

Shapes
This afternoon we had a fantastic shapes lesson. First we all sat together and had to fish out the correct shapes from the middle of our circle. There was lots of discussion about what each shape looked like.We then had to try and pick out a certain shape and match it to the correct picture. Some of the children then went on to sort the shapes by the amount of sides they have.
