Well boys and girls haggis is heading back to Mrs Forth house for more adventures see you all next week 🦖😁
On Haggis’ blog post this morning he told you about the schools Reading in an unusual place challenge. However he made a little mistake with Miss Robinson’s email address.
The correct email is: Carolyn.robinson@tainroyalacademy.net
I look forward to seeing your pictures. If you can send them today or tomorrow.
We have had some great entries for our Reading in an Unusual Place competition. If you haven’t already, please send me your picture by midnight tonight!
I have attached a document below. I have written a coded message. To solve the code write the first letter of the picture. Can you write your response to the question?
Numeracy
Today we are going to look at patterns. Remember a pattern is when something repeats multiple times. E.g. red, blue, green, red blue, green or square, triangle, circle, square, triangle, circle. Have a go at this game: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/ordering-and-sequencing/shape-patterns Start at level 1 and try moving onto level 2 and level 3. When you are finished try and make a pattern with something in your house. You could draw a pattern, use beads, pieces of fruit, toys. It’s up to you!
Today boys and girls we would like you all to make a story stick here is Haggis one, the things on the stick give a wee clue to what the story is about. Haggis has a tree, dinosaur and fairy on his story stick lets go and see what his story is about.
Haggis story stick
Here is Haggis and his friends story girls and boys:
A dinosaur went to the deep dark wood………………………………………………and he found a lovely little waterfall where he and his friends splashed about having lots of fun, then they spotted a pretty cherry tree they climbed up and up and could see everything below only haggis started to feel a bit scared so they thought it best to come down. A bit further on they found a rainbow 🌈 what could it mean, was it a clue they looked up at the sky no rainbow there, they followed a path through the woods to see, they came to a little house very exciting..they knocked on the door and peered in the window but could not see anybody, then haggis remembered the story of Hansel and Gretel and the little house in the woods where the old witch lived. He whispered to his friends and they crept quietly away they did not want to meet any witches 🧙♀️ thank you very much!! A little further on they spotted some beautiful fairy doors how they wanted to meet the fairies from behind the doors they looked and looked and they found…a ladybird, haggis asked the ladybird is she knew where the fairies were the ladybird replied why they are behind the doors but they are very shy and come out mostly when everyone is asleep you just need to look very hard for one.
Woods fun
Then haggis spotted somebody green and purple who said his name was Roly Mo but sadly he could not help them find the fairy either, but he introduced the dinosaurs to Peter rabbit, after a play it was time to go home they all agreed they had enjoyed their little adventure apart from a possible meeting with a witch 🧙♀️.

Now girls and boys we would like you to make a story stick then you could draw some pictures and try to do some writing to tell your own little story let your imagination run wild have fun.
Girls and boys the school have a reading challenge what you do is get a parent to take a photo of you reading your favourite book in an unusual place this will be added to a lovely school video to cheer everyone up. Let’s get as many pictures of our nursery children added to the video as we can.
All photos please email to carolyn.robinson@invergordonacademy.org.uk

At the start up screen choose the second banner on the Phase 3 side. Once you have arranged the shields to spell the word click on the wave to see if you are correct.
Literacy: Reading
Re-read your reading book. What do you think of the book? Are you enjoying it?
On the first page of your reading book there is a picture with the main characters and important words labelled. Can you draw a picture and label the important parts? You could draw your family, draw your favourite characters or simply make up a picture.
You should find a task called Wednesday Maths. Please try to complete this as independently as you can as it will allow me to see what areas might need some extra practice.
Also, please don’t forget to email me your reading in an unusual place photo by Friday evening. I have gotten some amazing entries already! There may also be a prize involved (check out the main school blog!)
Today haggis met some friends at Mrs June house he had lots of fun with his new friends.
Haggis and his new friends
Well girls and boys today we are going to learn a little bit about how we know about dinosaurs that lived millions of years ago. A fossil is made when a dinosaur died usually near water, at some point sand and mud would cover the dinosaur lots of times creating layers which then trapped the dinosaur inside the rocks, this process would take thousands of years to happen. Then a Palentologist someone who studies dinosaurs like a special dinosaur teacher would go digging and would find these rocks, that is how we have learnt so much about dinosaurs. Maybe girls and boys you could go on a dinosaur dig in your garden who knows what you might find!!
Dinosaur fossilstegosaurus fossil
Can you see the dinosaur in the rocks? Today we are going to make our very own fossil. You will need water, a tub and a dinosaur don’t worry if you don’t have a dinosaur you can use a small animal toy instead.
Getting the fossil ready
Then we will put the tub in the freezer and when it comes out we will have a dinosaur ice fossil. Good luck boys and girls have fun with your science experiment 😊. Haggis is looking forward to seeing your fossils.
